The Designer
Tailoring is where Miuccia Prada's intellectualism shows clearest: Milanese restraint, dry cloth, cuts that prize line over flattery. The house was founded as a leather goods maison in 1913 and has been restlessly rewriting the rules of luxury since Miuccia took over in 1978 — an oppositional design logic that has shaped two generations of women's dressing.
