The Designer
Louis Vuitton was founded in 1854 in Paris by Louis Vuitton as a trunk maker — the maison that built its name on travel luggage before becoming one of the largest names in French luxury. Marc Jacobs led the women's ready-to-wear from 1997 to 2013, Nicolas Ghesquière took over in 2013 and has shaped the house ever since. The women's RTW, shoes and leather accessories all share the same atelier discipline as the luggage.
