The Designer

Fendi was founded in Rome in 1925 by Adele and Edoardo Fendi as a fur and leather workshop, growing into one of the defining Italian luxury houses. Karl Lagerfeld served as creative director of the fur and women's collections from 1965 until his death in 2019 — the longest uninterrupted creative directorship in fashion history — followed by Kim Jones (2020–2024) and Silvia Venturini Fendi's continued leadership. The house has been part of LVMH since 2001.
