The Designer

The 1990s were Karl Lagerfeld's sharpest commercial decade at Chanel — the years of supermodel runways, the reissued 2.55 flap, and the Boutique label at its densest production. Pieces from this window define the resale archive: confident proportions, unapologetic house codes and fabric weights the mainline rarely commits to today. Chanel itself was founded in 1910 by Gabrielle Chanel on Rue Cambon and has stayed at that Paris address ever since.
